It's great that I can download pic via wifi on my mobile devices, but I hate downloading so many pics on a small device that has less memory and is slower then my PC to begin with. Unless you're an Android of course! Most of the time, the Apple apps take priority. I also hate that there is no iPad app which should be the first thing they should have made. The camera and my Nexus tablet paired up very quickly and as all I wanted was to preview rather than to download, it worked just fine for me Thirdphotoreceptor edited this topic 107 months ago.ĭuring a recent vacation, I found the Nikon Android app just perfect for viewing the photos I'd taken each day. ![]() ![]() A lot more is possible when you use a cable basically. Nikon's wireless solution is pretty limited, but you can also use the camera with DslrDashboard on Android devices via a micro USB cable, or if you connect it via the supplied USB cable to a desktop computer, you can do things like tethered shooting (transferring pictures to the computer and viewing them at full size as you shoot). You can get extra functionality out of a D5300 though by using Nikon's wireless app or by plugging it directly into a smartphone or computer via a cable. There is only the firmware onboard, and hacks thereof. Another question, can you use apps or are there apps that you could download to your D5300? Nikon only support transferring images to mobile devices, which connect to the camera as if it's a wireless router. ![]() There might be third party software that can, but I haven't seen any. At least, Nikon doesn't provide any software to do that yet. Can you transfer your pictures to your computer by wireless?
